What to expect when choosing your gown.
Gowns will be ordered through your selected designer and are made especially for you. Most gowns take 4-6 months to receive depending on the designer. Planning ahead and choosing your gown early is always recommended. Fittings and a bridal portrait factor into the time you will need to be ready for your special day. When placing your order, 50% deposit is required in the form of cash, check or credit card excluding American Express. The balance will be due 30 days prior to the dress shipping from the design house.
Measurements
Once you have chosen your gown, the bridal consultant will take careful measurements. You will be provided with the suggested size by your chosen designer. While this is a recommendation by our consultant and the designer, the ultimate size decision is the Bride’s. Custom sizing is available from our couture designers to give a more custom fit for a small fee. All gowns will need some form of alteration upon arrival to give you the best fit for your wedding day. We have a variety of top alterations professionals we can recommend to you upon request.
Arrival and Fittings
The gowns are shipped directly to our boutique from the design house. When your gown arrives at b. Hughes Bridal it will be inspected for any flaws or imperfections. You will receive a call from your bridal consultant letting you know it is in the store. It is up to you to schedule your fittings. This process usually takes 8-12 weeks and up to 3 visits with your alterations professional. Rush fittings can be arranged if necessary.
